An interesting play on words here to get you thinking. Are we racing toward something?

It’s not dominance over another species; we’ve already won that, per se. It’s not to populate the planet; some estimate that insects outnumber us 200 million to 1. If there is a race, it must be in a race with ourselves.

One would certainly think so, given our history; nations trying to exert their superiority over other nations; teams trying to defeat other teams in a particular event; individual people trying to prove they are better or more important than other individual people. We are kind of competitive as a whole, aren’t we?

Isn’t it wonderful that God puts us all on equal footing? We don’t have to vie for His affection; He loves us all the same. We don’t have to work for forgiveness; He already paid the price. We don’t have to race for salvation; He gives it to us freely!
