I think I might have to put this disclaimer on some of these strips. Please keep in mind that the jokes are situational and do not reflect my personal general views about certain subjects.
Whether or not Adam felt any physical pain from the removal of his rib could definitely be argued. The idea that his torment was just beginning is somewhat less questionable.
Oh, and lest I forget the formal introduction, meet Eve. Isn’t she lovely? Kind of reminds me of a young Susan Sarandon. Come to think of it, Adam sort of resembles David Hasselhoff. Maybe I will try to cast them in the Moth & Ethan live action feature film. Isn’t it fun to play pretend?

Sure is a hilarious portrayal 😛
Aw, come on, Eve can’t have been a total nag. Adam definitely loved her.
I know this is supposed to be funny, but I’m kind of scarred from growing up in church with the whole “all problems are women’s fault; it was Eve’s fault not Adam; all women are naggy and annoying and need to shut up…” I just have been fed enough negative gender stereotypes for three lifetimes and a half, so I guess this just isn’t funny to me. The mother of all women, you know, should get a little respect, right?
We’re not lame.
Thanks for chiming in, Petre. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had such negative experiences with gender stereotypes in the church. Having grown up with a very strong, godly mother, and now being married to a strong godly wife, I’m glad to say that I don’t have that perspective at all. Keeping in mind that this is a cartoon (and by definition a caricature or exaggeration of life), my intention was not to pigeon-hole Eve in this way, but more to make a joke about relationships, especially new relationships and discovering our roles in them. I certainly don’t think women are “lame”, and I hold them in the highest regard. I do however find the way that men and women relate to each other absolutely hysterical. I am curious as to how you came to the conclusion that “Adam definitely loved her.” I’m not saying you’re wrong, but what do you base that on?
